PROJECT STATEMENT 

Sophies immersive works on paper explore the intersections of race, gender, magic, and mythology. By drawing inspiration from pop art, cartoons, and drag, their practice defies categorization and pushes viewers to reconsider the boundaries of fine art, commercial visual culture, and everyday life.

Sophie graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design in 2001 with a BFA. Her work has been at Jenkins Johnson Projects, Brooklyn; the Eik Center Art Gallery, New Haven; the Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus; and Triangle Projects, Los Angeles.
